Manage Reclassification Request

Business Role: Commodity Risk Manager - Hedge Accounting

With this Fiori app (ID F5667), you can create and manage commodity reclassification requests. During a hedging relationship, a dedesignation request can be applied where you can specify, how the OCI shall be handled: Immediate reclassification or OCI Freeze. At the end of the pricing period, (latest at payment date) the hedging relationship is dedesignated automatically (planned dedesignation). After a dedesignation and before the basis adjustment, it can be required (e.g due to a decreased exposure) to reclassify the frozen OCI for one or more assigned financial trades to P/L. For this, reclassification requests can be created automatically (via report) or manually in the app Manage Commodity Reclassification Requests: Manual reclassifications can be initiated from the app Manage Commodity Reclassification Requests. Manual reclassification requests are only possible for settled financial trades where the exposure quantiy decreased after the exposure"s pricing period. The same is true if there was a comprehensive loss in the hedging relationship where the OCI is frozen, and where the loss will unlikely be compensated by the profit made from the produced goods. The user can select and deselect final candidates to be reclassified. Reclassification requests can be automatically created for net dedesignated trades even before the end of the exposure"s pricing period. Both, automatically and manually created reclassification requests, can contain one or multiple financial trades. Trades that are taken into account are always completely reclassified. Continuous reclassifications are automatically created with the report Create Reclassification Requests. Trades determined by the report can be reclassified as proposed. It is not possible, to select or deselect single trades. Instead, you can cancel an entire reclassification request and re-entered it as a manual reclassification request.
