Purpose
This CDS view is designed to provide a structured representation of equipment categories within a system. It extracts and organizes data related to equipment categories, including their attributes and associated texts, enabling efficient data management and retrieval. The view supports data extraction with change data capture, ensuring that updates to equipment category information are automatically captured. It also facilitates associations with related texts and inspection levels, providing a comprehensive view of equipment category details. This CDS view provides the data to answer the following business questions: What are the different equipment categories available in the system? Which equipment categories are associated with utilities data? What are the number ranges assigned for internal and external ID assignments for each equipment category? What are the inspection level codes associated with each equipment category? What is the reference type for each equipment category? What status profiles are linked to each equipment category? Does an equipment category have linear attributes? How is the equipment category view profile defined? What are the object information codes related to equipment categories? How are equipment categories identified uniquely within different contexts? To help you decide which CDS view to use for your purposes, SAP has introduced the annotation ObjectModel.supportedCapabilities that indicates the most appropriate use cases for each CDS view. To find out what use cases are best supported by this CDS view, access the entry of the CDS view in the View Browser app and find the values for this annotation under the Annotation tab. For more information, see Supported Capabilities for CDS Views .
